LDV, an automotive company with a rich heritage, has a history that dates back to the late 19th century. In 1896, LDV introduced a groundbreaking vehicle, a 1.5-tonne steam-powered van. Subsequent mergers with prominent entities in the British automotive industry led to our transformation into Leyland DAF in 1987. During the Leyland DAF era, we solidified our position as a notable sales triumph in Europe. Notably, our vehicles became the preferred choice for prestigious organizations such as the Royal Mail, the National Grid electricity company, and several emergency services in the United Kingdom.
